Technical project plan
Our Technical Architects took charge of crafting a comprehensive technical project plan, encompassing infrastructure, data governance, and security. The plan underwent validation by the architecture team to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with the business goals.
Once approved, we translated this into scrum and sprint planning, enabling a seamless flow of tasks to the development team. It also provides structured data that our Analytics Engineers can translate into visually engaging outputs.
MicroStrategy development
The VDAB team also approached Agiliz to build a complex MicroStrategy report. Our Analytics Engineers conducted a technical audit and together with VDAB, they implemented necessary changes to improve performance. The quick turnaround time and high-quality deliverables were so impressive that we have since deployed over ten projects for various departments.
Some of the deliverables include:
- Management indicators: we implemented a dashboard to closely monitor data, such as the percentage of clients who secure employment within 3 months. With ambitious targets in place, our solution ensures enhanced visibility and empowers better decision-making.
- WG360: this centralised hub empowers seamless access to comprehensive information about each employer. The result? Faster and more informed assistance for their internal clients.
To this day, our team handles the technical management: we oversee the server environments, ensuring uptime, scalability, and delivering all required deliverables.
A future proof infrastructure
Over the past 3 years, the team and us also designed and implemented an on-premises data platform to replace the previous data warehouse. Recently, the production of this platform has started. By utilising a generic ingestion framework for configuring the data platform, we significantly reduced the implementation time for more efficiency.
VDAB opted for modelling within a LAMBDA architecture. Through CI/CD, we have established a streamlined approach to ensure rapid development and deployment of new features and updates. This enhances overall productivity and responsiveness.
We transformed the monolithic application into microservices to confine the impact zone of potential issues. This offers advantages, such as data security, accelerated development cycles, seamless deployment, and significantly reduced chances of errors. By scaling the entire application both horizontally and vertically too, it empowers us to cater precisely to the escalating demands of users.
An extensive collaboration
Agiliz has a significant presence within VDAB, going beyond mere execution to actively contribute to enhancing team performance and internal processes:
- Continuous learning and staying ahead of innovative technologies are essential, which is why we conduct internal training sessions and monthly presentations on emerging technologies.
- Beyond technical aspects, we help with the development of new business processes, streamlining them for swift project delivery. We closely monitor the development team's progress, diligently following milestones and adhering to planning schedules.
- In pursuit of optimisation, we focus on revamping older applications, harmonising them with future-proofness and security standards. If integration is not feasible, we consider phasing out those processes, ensuring our systems remain efficient and up to date.
- We operate within both BI and AI environments, actively working towards bridging the gap between the two to foster constructive collaboration among the teams.
